Glen McLeod – Founder

Glen McLeod, founded Edge Mortgages in 2008 after ten years in the Mortgage Broking industry. He was awarded the title of NZMBA Mortgage Broker of the Year for Auckland/Northland region in 2009 and was also nominated for this award back in 2006. Since then he has received numerous Industry accolades.

Glen started in the finance industry in 1988 at ANZ Bank Street in Whangarei as a Cadet. It is here he worked his way through the banking system enabling him to get an in-depth understanding of all areas within the Bank. In 1998 Glen finished his ANZ career, at the age of 26, as Branch Manager ANZ Devonport.

After taking some time out to tour UK and Europe, he became Senior Business Analyst for AMP Banking in the UK. He was given a blank page and asked to help create their Mortgage Operations Team and Systems. This role consisted of creating and bringing together components from Customers, Mortgage Brokers and the Banks Credit Teams. This is what helped give Glen the invaluable insight and experience, inspiring him to set up his own business back here in Auckland.

Glen’s dedication to providing the best possible solution to the needs of his clients is his passion. Mortgage lending, whether it be dealing with top ups, re-fixing of interest rates, first home buyers or developers completing multi-unit developments, runs in his blood. Glen loves a challenge and will spend as long as it takes to help find a solution.

After spending 25 years in the finance industry, Glen continues to develop and grow his business, striving to create even better customer outcomes. Glen’s team work on various aspects of the business, enabling him to do what he loves best, give advice and help clients with their financial futures.
Outside of the office, family is a major part of life with Michelle and the five boys. He is involved in refereeing Football for the Northern Regional Football league and manages a team at Northern Rovers FC. Glen also enjoys fishing on his Jetski, lawn bowls and is an avid Warriors fan.
